Tourists stuck in airport due to anti-government protest
Stranded travelers flee Bangkok international airport. Three thousand passengers have been stuck here for 24 hours after thousands of anti-government protesters overran the departures lounge and blocked the access roads. Looking haggard and overwrought, they board buses for the Thai capital. They're not going home yet but at least they'll have a bed and a meal. For some, the siege was a harrowing experience.
People protesting against the government
Images of travelers sleeping in luggage trays and being fed by protesters has given the People's Alliance for Democracy an international spotlight. It's reinvigorated a six-month campaign to topple the democratically-elected government, which the PAD says is corrupt. They apologized to passengers but said this was the only way to force the government's hand.
Protesters wants Prime Minister Somchai to resign
