Young Britons learning French from the very basics Every year around 100 British families settle in the region of Dordogne in southwestern France. Their children go to school there but often start off without a word of French. Bruno Argeuille is in charge of teaching young Britons the language skills they need to get by.

Children learn by translating words into French Makensie also learned his first words from a British friend: Hello is bonjour, thank you is merci, aeroplane is avion, and flower is a fleur, and ball is ballon.
