A Moroccan high school student who was deported from France last month has applied for a new visa to return. Najlae Lhimer, who had been living in France on an expired visa since November, was sent back to Morocco last month after she tried to lodge a complaint against her brother with French police.
Najlae happy to return to France
A 19-year-old Moroccan woman who was expelled from France after complaining to police that her brother had beaten her will receive a visa to return to the country, Immigration Minister Eric Besson said Tuesday. Najlae Lhimer was expelled from the country on the grounds that she had no residency permit.
Girl turned from victim to guilty by authorities
She had come to France at the age of 15 to avoid an arranged marriage in Morocco, but she never been granted residency. She was attending secondary school when she was deported.
