Car bomb targets federal investigation agency A suicide car bomb attack in the Pakistani city of Lahore killed at least 13 people and wounded up to 90 in a fresh strike by the Taliban in the populous Punjab province. The attack was mounted as Robert Gates, US defence secretary, arrived in Kabul on his first Afghan trip since President Barack Obama sent 30,000 extra troops to the country in a fresh effort to end the war against Taliban insurgents. The attack in Lahore involved a lone suicide bomber who blew up an explosives-laden vehicle at the offices of the federal investigation agency in Lahore's upmarket Model Town suburb.
