Art from Tintin creator to go up for auction Drawings and proofs from the creator of Tintin, Herge, are to go under the hammer on May 29. The Paris auction house Drouot is putting a few of the items on show from Thursday.
"Tintin in the Congo" album up for auction Tintin in the Congo is the second of The Adventures of Tintin, a series of classic comic-strip albums, written and illustrated by Belgian writer and illustrator Hergé, featuring young reporter Tintin as a hero. It appeared between June 1930 and June 1931 in Le Petit Vingtième. The story was published as an album in 1931, in black and white form. It was re-drawn in 1946, with additional changes in 1975.

"The Calculus Affair" can fetch 600,000 euros Marcel Wilmet says "We have an original plate sketched in pencil of "The Calculus Affair" which is valued at between 90 and 110,000 euros. Our goal is to bring in at least 600,000 euros with the sale but it could go as high as one million or maybe even more."
