More than a million tourists to attend carnival
Thousands of tourists wearing masks and costumes thronged Venice's car-free streets on Saturday as the city's celebration of Carnival began. Carnival starts around two weeks before Ash Wednesday and ends on Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday.
