Money from auction for HIV research projects Yves Saint Laurent (1 August 1936 – 1 June 2008), was an Algerian-born French fashion designer who was considered one of the greatest figures in French fashion in the 20th century. Auction house Christie’s will be auctioning off items belonging to the late French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge. The auction of his art collection in February raised a record 342.5 million euros, and the second part of this year’s record-smashing YSL-Pierre Berge “sale of the century” is expected to generate considerable interest. Francois de Ricqles says all the money generated will go for HIV research projects.
Exclusive Laurent designed jewellery on sale Alexis Kugel says some of the items in the auction are very moving like the jewelery pieces exclusively designed by Yves Saint Laurent himself which will be a rage among art-lovers.
